Job Overview

JR Italy is seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our network infrastructure.

About the Role

We are looking for a professional who has excellent knowledge of LAN and WAN networks, with a strong focus on routing and switching based on Cisco technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with network monitoring and alerting solutions, as well as a good understanding of cybersecurity principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure inter-team adoption of best practices and encourage consistency in approach.
  • Support a team of infrastructure engineers to build, deliver and maintain a world-class infrastructure platform that meets agreed SLA expectations.
  • Acquire strong technical understanding of network infrastructure.
  • Participate in technical decisions and help drive continuous improvement within the network infrastructure.
  • Network infrastructure implementation and maintenance for both Data Centres and Branch Offices.
  • WAN/LAN network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Support LAN, WLAN, and Collaboration networks.
  • Engage with MPLS and Internet providers to identify, troubleshoot faults, and follow up via a ticketing system.
  • General second-level support activities with NOC personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of LAN and WAN networks.
  • Good knowledge of network infrastructure (routing and switching) based on Cisco technologies.
  • Ability to define and obtain adoption of new processes.
  • Ability to produce accurate and complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to perform daily health checks and act accordingly.
  • Experience with Network Monitoring and alerting solutions (SolarWinds preferable).
  • Experience in working for a true global 24x7 organization.
  • Knowledge of NAC products.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles.

Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be required to work at least 2-3 days per week in an office located in Emilia Romagna.
