Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to join their team in the Metal Fabrication category. As a key member of the HUB Europe Supply Quality and Development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and delivery performance of suppliers in the Metal Fabrication category.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Qualification and Audit: Evaluate qualification assessment forms, align corrective action plans with suppliers, and follow up on resolution.
- Supplier On-Site Audits: Plan and conduct required supplier on-site audits, including assessment reporting and corrective action plan alignment.
- Supplier Sustainability Audits: Participate in supplier sustainability audits and verify closure of corrective action plan items.
- Production Part Approval Process: Lead the production part approval process for new supplier parts/materials, including coordination of trial parts and first article inspection activities.
- Non-Conformity Resolution: Lead the non-conformity resolution process with suppliers in case of escalated technical issues from factories.
- Supplier Performance Evaluation: Monitor and consolidate supplier delivery and quality KPIs, identify top concern suppliers, and conduct Supplier Performance Evaluations.
- Quality Procedures and Tools: Implement PG/PGTR supply quality procedures, develop/issue specific supplier and part/material quality procedures, and ensure utilization of SBM tools.
- Special Quality and Continuous Improvement Projects: Complete special quality and continuous improvement projects, such as Advanced Product Quality Planning, Lean Six Sigma, and supplier manuals.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant quality assurance, manufacturing, or supplier quality management experience in a production environment.
- Quality Methodologies: Strong understanding of quality and continuous improvement methodologies, such as 8D, DMAIC, 5Why, A3, and Poka-Yoke.
- Process Audits and Quality Standards: Proven experience with process audits, APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan, and Statistical Process Control, as well as familiarity with ISO-9001, ISO 5817, ISO 3834, ISO 15614, ISO 15609, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including leading remote meetings and workshops, and ability to create a collaborative environment.
- Travel and Language: Willingness to travel up to 50% globally and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
