Job Summary

The Culinary Professional is a key member of the Villanova University Dining Services team, responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook sauces, soups, entrees, vegetables, and other menu items to meet high-quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist chefs and assistant chefs as needed, and may be responsible for leading kitchen operations during a shift.
  • Collaborate with management and colleagues to promote the values of Villanova University and Dining Services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant or college/university setting.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and operate all kitchen equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary certification and ServSafe certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 30 pounds independently.
