About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our Content Technologies Team at Hubert Burda Media. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and building an extensible and modular publishing framework that will consolidate and run all BurdaForward portfolio brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop the module architecture of the publishing framework
  • Develop features and functionalities to enhance the framework
  • Onboard new brands and in-house development teams on the framework
  • Maintain and improve the codebase to ensure high-quality software
  • Collaborate with the team to establish processes for quality assurance and usability
  • Contribute to the development of a high-technical quality framework
Requirements
  • Strong experience in building web applications and APIs using backend frameworks like Express
  • Proficiency in writing code in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Experience with cloud technologies like AWS Lambda, ECS, SQS/SNS, S3 or comparable
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar frameworks
  • Experience with CI/CD and Docker or other container systems
  • Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
  • Basic knowledge of testing applications with unit and integration tests
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of frontend frameworks like VueJs, ReactJs, Angular, Svelte
  • Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with international and remote teams
  • Good English communication skills
