SMS group S.p.A. is a leading company in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, with a strong presence in Italy and worldwide.

We are seeking a skilled Construction Manager to join our team in Tarcento, Udine, San Donato Milanese, Milan, and Genoa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Initiating, coordinating, and controlling all construction activities within the project to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality project execution.
  • Communicating cross-functionally and providing relevant information to the project core team, including the Project Manager, Project Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Manager, and Project Scheduler.
  • Specializing in processing the construction work package during order execution for the site team.
  • Serving as the central project-related point of contact for the construction phase.
  • Coordinating all matters related to construction work packages in consultation with the General Commissioning Manager.
  • Monitoring compliance with the HSE plan and escalating to the Project Manager in case of significant non-conformity.
  • Preparing the construction work package in full and proper detail.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and customer requirements in the planning and execution phase of a project, focusing on safe construction site operation and considering environmental aspects.

Requirements:

  • Leadership skills to coordinate, manage, and control all construction activities.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Site Management's activity in the construction of steel processing plants.
  • Knowledge in Site erection and commissioning activities management preferred for steel plants.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work in a team and flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide.
  • Organizational skills, sense of responsibility, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Open-mindedness towards new approaches and innovations.
  • Confident handling of MS Office tools.
