Position Overview

Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated and proactive System & Signaling EMI/EMC Engineer who excels in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of responsibilities ranging from operational tasks to strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the EMI/EMC team, you will work to prevent and resolve issues related to electromagnetic compatibility throughout the product development lifecycle, including subsystems and railway system integration. Your engineering mindset will allow you to navigate the V-cycle constraints associated with EMI/EMC. Key tasks will include:

  • Designing and specifying EMI/EMC requirements for projects.
  • Conducting in situ and laboratory tests, and participating in project monitoring and meetings.
  • Managing the identification, allocation, and traceability of EMI/EMC requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identifying and resolving EMI/EMC interface issues among subsystems.
  • Performing technical analyses and simulations related to EMI/EMC.
  • Executing verification activities of EMI/EMC documentation in accordance with the V&V Plan.
  • Planning and conducting on-site System EMI/EMC tests.
  • Supervising technical analyses and measurements to address EMI/EMC challenges.
  • Participating in laboratory tests for equipment to ensure compliance with EMI/EMC design standards.
  • Preparing EMC technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in EMC Railway and Metro System Engineering.
  • Strong skills in Requirements Management & Development, as well as Interface Management concerning EMI/EMC.
  • A background in electrical system engineering or electronic engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Experience in project leadership.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling systems (e.g., CBTC, ERTMS, TVM).

Educational Background

Candidates should have a degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering.

Language Proficiency

Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Italian is advantageous.
