Job Description

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Bid Manager to lead the preparation of winning Technical-Economical proposals for Signalling, Operation Control Centre, and Telecoms systems in the Railway and Urban Transportation market. The ideal candidate will have experience in Project or Bid management and a strong technical background with commercial, contractual, and financial exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the overall tender preparation, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution.
  • Apply Bid & Project Management processes, methodologies, techniques, and tools to achieve objectives.
  • Manage complex bids with multiple disciplines, collaborating with Group Units.
  • Plan and coordinate bid activities, resources, and teams, managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Analyze opportunities, define positioning, and develop strategies for success.
  • Ensure tender baselines, coordinate bid contributions, and validate deliverables.
  • Collect and consolidate economic valorization contributions, presenting offers for approval.
  • Support Sales Managers in commercial meetings and negotiations.
  • Ensure adequate handovers to project teams and maintain stakeholder communications.
  • Comply with company values, Code of Ethics, Quality Manual, and HSE regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business.
  • Proven experience in Railway Transport and Project/Bid management.
  • Technical background with commercial, contractual, and financial exposure.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Result-oriented, with a strong drive in a team context.
  • Availability to travel, including international mobility.
  • Excellent Italian language skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
