Position Overview:

D-Orbit is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to become an integral member of our MAIT engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the Assembly, Integration, and Verification of components, subsystems, and satellites. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing and maintaining integration plans and procedures, as well as supervising our manufacturing team during AIT activities. Additionally, you will focus on enhancing and maintaining existing Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) while also designing new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the mechanical integration of components, subsystems, and satellites in controlled environments.
  • Develop and uphold integration procedures and plans.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain MGSE, including equipment handling and transport solutions.
  • Conduct structural analysis to verify the correct implementation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team for inspections and investigations.
  • Provide technical insights to projects to optimize mechanical processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare and author technical documentation.

This position may require occasional travel to supplier and testing facilities.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Experience with FEM structural analysis.
  • Background in designing and implementing mechanical ground support equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in assembly and integration processes.
  • Ability to produce documentation for both internal and external assembly procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong quality-driven approach.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • A degree in Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS).
  • Experience with PTC Creo, Nastran/Patran, and PLM Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and 3D printing processes.
  • Fluency in Italian is a plus.
