We are seeking a qualified Tunnel Engineer to enhance our expanding Tunnelling team within our Milan Office. This role involves contributing to both local and international projects, including significant undertakings such as the HS2 project in the UK, various Metro Projects in California and Denmark, and mining initiatives related to energy projects in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee design packages effectively.
- Engage directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams with minimal oversight.
- Coordinate efforts with engineers from various disciplines.
- Generate project-related documentation and reports.
- Conduct design calculations and assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings.
- Handle project and team administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- BEng in Civil Engineering or BSc in Geological Sciences, complemented by an MSc in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or Structural Engineering.
- Proficient in industry-standard software for tunnelling, geotechnical, and structural design.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in geotechnical and tunnelling design within a consultancy setting.
- Strong background in numerical analysis.
- Demonstrated engineering skills and knowledge.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated with a willingness to embrace new challenges.
- Publication in professional journals and conferences is encouraged.
- Interest in international projects is advantageous.
- Fluency in Italian and English is required.
