Position Overview

The Legal Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal guidance to the Executive Chairman, the CEO of Renewables, and the teams involved in project origination, development, construction, and operations within the Green Assets Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering full-spectrum legal support to senior management and project teams.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts to facilitate the growth objectives of the Green Assets Division.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of MET group policies across subsidiaries while managing corporate governance matters.
  • Actively promoting and driving the expansion of the renewables portfolio across Europe, including involvement in M&A activities, due diligence, and post-merger integration.
  • Overseeing all legal matters related to the development and construction of large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Providing ongoing legal support to the Operations and Maintenance team regarding the operational renewable energy portfolio.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in relevant jurisdictions to ensure compliance.
  • Leading a team of two legal counsels dedicated to the Green Assets Division.
  • Managing relationships and budgets with external legal partners, ensuring effective oversight of their services.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Green Assets Division to meet MET Group's energy transition goals.
  • Collaborating closely with the Group Legal Team and the Group M&A and Strategy Team.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a legal degree from a prestigious law school.
  • An LLM (Master of Laws) is highly advantageous.
  • Approximately 12-15 years of relevant experience, ideally with some in-house exposure.
  • Experience in managing legal teams is preferred.
  • Background in the energy sector, particularly within the renewable energy domain.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Italian or German is a plus.
  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation, and ability to work independently.
