Director of Development Opportunity

Leap29 is seeking a highly skilled Director of Development to lead the development of renewable energy projects in Italy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar PV and/or wind energy project development, including site identification, feasibility studies, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the company's strategy for solar PV and wind energy project development in Italy.
  • Create and manage the annual development roadmap, aligning with the overall growth objectives.
  • Oversee all stages of project development, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to drive project success.
  • Liaise with local, regional, and national authorities to ensure compliance with Italian and EU regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, financial performance, and key milestones.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in solar PV and/or wind energy project development.
  • Deep knowledge of the Italian renewable energy market, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and technological advancements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding large projects.
  • Fluency in Italian and English is required.
