We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician / Senior Research Technician to join our team at Human Technopole Foundation. The successful candidate will play a key role in our ERC Consolidator Grant project, DARC MATTER, which aims to study the dynamics and mechanisms of drug resistance in colorectal cancer.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in cell culture. Experience in tissue culture and patient-derived organoid models is essential. Fluency in English is required, as our team is international and collaborative.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct experiments in cell biology, with a focus on developing, optimizing, and applying protocols for organoid cultures in human normal and tumour cells.
- Apply, generate, and optimize protocols for human organoid cultures, staying at the forefront of science in the field.
- Maintain organoid lines generated in the lab, ensuring that all primary human material is stored and processed according to health and safety and ethics committee guidance.
- Perform single cell profiling and genomic screening of organoid lines.
- Work closely with a computational researcher to analyze data and foster a synergy that propels the project towards its ambitious goals.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to formulate and validate hypotheses.
- Work with the HT National Facility for Genomics for sample profiling.
- Support genomic library preparation.
- Perform meticulous sample tracking, storing, and QC.
- Generate reliable data for publication in the ERC project and record all data and results in specified forms.
- Liaise with the Centre's Lab Manager and other staff to ensure they are regularly updated.
- A Bachelor degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field of the life sciences.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in cell culture.
- Experience in tissue culture and patient-derived organoid models.
- Fluency in English.
