Job Summary:
Villanova University's Department of Communication seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric to join our faculty. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching can address the connections of rhetoric, culture, and power to areas such as critical race studies, feminist and queer studies, indigenous studies, and/or global perspectives.
About the Position:
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on a 2-2 teaching load in the first year, with a transition to a 3-2 teaching load in the second year. They will also pursue an active program of research in one or more of the areas mentioned above. Service responsibilities will include student advising and mentoring, as well as curriculum development and assessment.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Communication (ABD considered; completion by August 2025) with an emphasis in critical rhetorical studies
- College-level teaching experience
- Ability to contribute to Villanova's interdisciplinary areas
