Position Overview

The role of the Incident Response Assistant (part-time, 10-12 month contract) involves being the first point of contact for students facing emergencies. Reporting directly to the Residence and Student Life Manager, the assistant collaborates with campus health professionals and the Facilities Office to provide immediate assistance during incidents. Responsibilities include documenting incidents through accurate reporting, maintaining an on-call log after each shift, and attending weekly meetings with Office of Student Life staff. During operational hours, the assistant will engage in various administrative tasks within the Office of Student Life, offering guidance and support to students, colleagues, and visitors. It is imperative that the assistant ensures fair and inclusive treatment of all individuals.
Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or progress toward a bachelor's degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective and timely communication in English; strong writing skills in English that are clear and comprehensive; ability to perform under pressure; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software. Candidates must demonstrate their eligibility to work in Italy.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree in Italian, Psychology, Medicine, Social Work, or related disciplines.
Preferred Certification/Other Qualifications
Fluency in both English and Italian.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in educational environments.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Willingness to respond to student emergencies in person when on call; customer service-oriented with a focus on life education; ability to empathize with others; capability to produce clear and actionable written reports; collaborative mindset; positive demeanor; and respect for diverse viewpoints.
