Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity in Social and Political Science

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the University of Milan's Department of Social and Political Science. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Anne-Marie Jeannet on her ERC funded project DESPO, which aims to investigate the long-term consequences of manufacturing decline and its political aftermath.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative research using administrative data, managing large datasets, and data linking
  • Develop and implement geographic software (GIS) and statistical software (STATA or R) solutions
  • Prepare documents in LaTeX and contribute to the project's publications

Requirements:

  • PhD in social science backgrounds such as sociology, political science, geography, economics, history, or similar disciplines
  • Strong competence in geographic software (GIS), statistical software (STATA or R), and data management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
