Job Description

Job Summary:

HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A. is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities for projects with low to medium complexity. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective completion of all commissioning activities, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning Planning and Execution: Contribute to the planning and implementation of commissioning activities, supporting and coordinating installation activities with the Installation Supervisor/Site Manager. Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation.
  • Proposal Development and Contract Management: Assist in creating proposals for engineering projects, providing bills of materials and estimated engineering hours. Support Contract Managers in issuing claims, including new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, and risk quantifications.
  • Risk and Opportunity Assessment: Conduct risk and opportunity assessments during the commissioning phase to ensure the implementation of the commissioning plan. Identify and report potential risks related to contract, quality, program, and cost, and recommend resolutions to management.
  • Site Coordination and Customer Management: Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification. Identify and recommend new effective solutions to meet business and customer needs. Provide relevant information pertaining to commissioning assignments and meetings with customers.
  • External Organization Management: Manage external organizations to ensure the availability of commissioning equipment, systems, or services. Provide relevant information pertaining to commissioning assignments and meetings with contractors/colleagues.
  • Safety and Contract Compliance: Use standard processes to ensure all commissioning activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Apply and improve processes and tools in one's technical area to ensure effective project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrotechnical Engineering or Technical Diploma.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience with control and protection systems.
  • Language: Good knowledge of English (B1/B2).
  • Travel: Availability to travel between Italy and Europe (90%).
