This position reports to the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Certification Engineering and Standardization at ABB.
Key Responsibilities
As a Certification Engineer, you will lead the certification and approval process for new Low Voltage (LV) Breaker products, ensuring compliance with relevant international and national standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation and evidence for certification submissions.
- Market Research and Compliance: Stay informed about specific certification requirements in target markets and ensure products meet those standards.
- Regulatory Engagement: Work closely with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to obtain approvals for market entry.
- Certificate Renewal and Management: Manage the renewal process for existing certificates, proactively addressing any changes in standards or regulations.
- Industry Standards and Assessment: Stay up-to-date with industry standards and assess the impact of new standards on existing products.
- Standard Committee Participation: Actively participate as a representative in standard committees, such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
- Core Values and Accountability: Demonstrate ABB's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Experience: Proven experience in product certification, preferably in the field of electrical components or a similar industry.
- Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and certification processes, as well as strong task management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Communication and Travel: Comfortable communicating in English and willing to travel as needed.
- Health, Safety, and Security: Strong awareness of Health, Safety, and Security rules.
