Our Mission
At Intertek, we strive to bring quality and safety to life. We are seeking a talented Junior Inspector to join our Italian team of Caleb Brett (Cargo) in Naples.
About the Role
As a Junior Inspector, you will be part of our inspection team in Naples and will receive comprehensive training to perform inspections independently. You will work closely with senior colleagues, both on-site and in the field, to develop the necessary skills to manage cargo inspections on ships, including volume measurements, temperature checks, sampling, calculations, document verification, and report writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cargo inspections, measurements, and inventory checks on ships and at land.
- Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transportation, and client personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify coordinators of any necessary supplies.
- Perform routine calibration of equipment, verify functionality, and conduct maintenance checks.
- Organize and coordinate work to ensure timely delivery of services and accurate reporting.
- Verify and communicate results, and record data in appropriate formats.
Requirements
- Diploma in a technical field.
- Previous experience in the maritime industry is a plus.
- Residency in the Naples area.
- Proficiency in English.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Availability for irregular working hours, including night shifts and on-call duties.
- Valid driver's license.
