Job Summary

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing special events and activities on board MSC Cruises' ships, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding client expectations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with corporate divisions and local offices to plan and execute special projects, events, and activities on board, taking into account ship operations and potential scenarios.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for MSC Commercial offices worldwide, providing support for daily needs, inspections, and programs related to commercial activities on board, including groups, incentives, charters, ceremonies, private events, and other commercial activities.
  • Identify and secure suitable venues for events, coordinating catering, staffing, audio-visual and technical needs, and entertainment, as well as developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Plan and organize on-board ceremonies, such as weddings, vow renewals, debutante events, and other special occasions, conducting site inspections and attending events as required.
  • Deliver high-quality events that foster business relationships, drive sales growth, and enhance brand awareness.
  • Train and assist on-board Event Coordinators to maintain the highest standards of hospitality.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality, preferably in events coordination or a related field, or equivalent experience as an Event Coordinator or Group Coordinator on board.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral), with any additional European language considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as tourism, is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in large groups and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Availability to frequently travel for business.
