Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer Beam Physics to join our team at IBA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of our Proton Therapy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the installation of a broad range of IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site, with a focus on beam-related equipment.
  • Perform beam-related equipment calibration following established procedures.
  • Operate the system to obtain a beam that matches the requirements, setting and aligning dosimetry tools as needed.
  • Critically analyze data to diagnose potential technical issues and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Test and validate equipment according to specifications, ensuring customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance, and timing.
  • Manage all aspects of beam-related commissioning activities, including Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) and other related tasks.
  • Ensure the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services during the installation and customer service phases.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree or PhD in Physics or engineering.
  • Experience in High Energy Physics, Particle Accelerators, or Medical Physics is a strong asset.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, MATLAB, Python, and Monte-Carlo Simulations.
  • The ability to troubleshoot large system issues and provide strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Customer-oriented, driven, proactive, and hands-on individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to follow rules, regulations, and deliver on strict deadlines.
  • Will to travel extensively during the training period and work in rotating shift work, night work, and weekends (up to 50% of the time).
