We are currently seeking a Naval Architect to join our Engineering team in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our Modular Design Section, you will be responsible for managing proposals, basic engineering design, and detail engineering design of modularized onshore projects.

Your key interactions will be with project teams, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines, as well as with clients, yard fabricators, transport contractors, and marine warranty surveyors.

As a Naval Architect, you will define and manage all phases of sea transportation activities, including marine and load-out activities in close coordination with project leads and functional entities.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Design and analysis of mooring systems
  • Definition of vessel motions and sea accelerations on modules during sea transportation
  • Issue and review of technical parts of requisitions, bid analysis, and purchase orders
  • Issue and review of naval deliverables related to load-out/load-in phase
  • Review of technical documentation issued by transport vessel contractors
  • Coordination with marine warranty surveyors and interfacing with other parties to ensure necessary activities related to load-out, barge transport, off-load, installation, stability, stowage plans, ballast management, and bollard pull calculations for barges and modules
  • Developing concept and detailed lifting arrangements, SPMT layouts, deck layouts, and sea-fastenings
  • Grillage and sea-fastening design

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a Master's degree in Marine Architecture/Naval Engineering. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is a plus. Previous experience is considered a plus, but not mandatory.
