Our Energy practice helps companies navigate an increasingly complex business climate. We cover the Oil & Gas and Power & Utilities sectors, with deep knowledge in Energy transition and Sustainability, Energy Trading and Risk Management, and Energy Engineering and Services.

Our projects typically apply BCG's core consulting skills in functional areas such as digitalization, strategy, organization, or performance improvement, but in the distinctive environment of Energy. We also address projects that touch upon more operational or technical challenges, which we deliver through our expert consultants, occasionally partnering with external specialists.

What You'll Do

As a senior expert consultant for our Energy Practice, you will work alongside our consulting teams and play a pivotal role in advising clients on executive-level Large Capital Project management, strategy, and implementation.

You will lead and advise diverse and high-performing project teams, enabling them to find the right approach, motivate them to deliver on time, and achieve long-term impact for our clients. You will also drive and orchestrate the majority of the project-related client interactions, ensuring a constructive collaboration with our clients.

Our Expert Consulting Track

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG's ability to successfully meet our clients' demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets, and their work is essential to our delivery model.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the 'best of BCG' to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 6+ years of experience in leading and managing large capital projects for the energy industry, particularly within oil & gas companies or service providers for oil & gas industry
  • Expert knowledge on large capital project implementation from concept to implementation, with domain knowledge of large capital projects in engineering, procurement & supply chain, construction, commissioning, and contract management
  • Experience in managing teams, devising and implementing business strategies involving quantitative analysis, conceptualization, and communication of strategic solutions
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment
  • Exceptional drive and commitment striving for excellence
  • Highly self-driven, well-structured yet flexible, able to think strategically/end-to-end
  • High level of agility, eager to develop new skills and areas of expertise
  • High level of adaptability to a frequently changing professional and social working environment
  • Willingness to travel according to business needs
