As a key member of the Access Services team at Villanova University's Falvey Memorial Library, the Access Services Technician plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff. This dynamic individual will be responsible for conducting a range of tasks, including providing in-person assistance at the library service desk, shelving returned books, and processing interlibrary loan materials.

• Provide excellent customer service to patrons, answering questions and conducting circulation transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Shelve returned books and maintain book stacks, ensuring the library's collection is organized and easily accessible.
• Process interlibrary loan materials, update records in specialized library software, and scan pages for electronic delivery.
• Retrieve materials from local and remote locations, and perform light clerical work as directed.
• Participate in library projects and contribute to the development of new initiatives.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with great accuracy and consistency.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations and provide exceptional customer service.
• Experience using hardware and software, including Windows, Mac, and web browsers.
• Familiarity with the library's catalog, journals, databases, and web search engines.
• Cross-training in multiple areas is required.
• Preference will be given to students who have availability on evenings and weekends.

• Ability to sit or stand for 2-4 hours at a time.
• Position requires physical effort, including pushing a wheeled cart of books or other materials, and some stooping and bending.
• Moderate lifting on a routine basis, with a minimum lifting requirement of 20 pounds.

Wage Rate: $11.25/hour
