About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Lufkin Gears. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for complex power generation and motor-compression trains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for new products introduction
  • Perform technical selection of electrical items, including electrical MV generators, MV motors, and MV variable speed drive systems
  • Formulate functional purchase specifications and data sheets, and close technical alignment of supplier technical proposals
  • Manage technical documentation during the engineering development phase, following up with suppliers and customers
  • Carry out engineering design reviews with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with customer contractual specifications and project applicable international rules
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for main/critical items and support the manufacturing team for internal testing
  • Execute and coordinate electric studies and simulations, and electro-mechanic studies using simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, ETAP, and DigSilent
Requirements
  • Masters' degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Substantial technical knowledge of electrical rotating machines, MV/LV panels, and variable speed drive systems
  • Good problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills, along with interpersonal skills
  • Good team player with good communication skills, fluent in verbal and written English
  • Fluency in both English and Italian (oral and written) and hold an EU passport or work permit
