Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Connection Specialist to join our team in Rome, Italy. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the grid connection activities for our solar and battery energy storage (BESS) project pipeline.

About the Role

The High Voltage Connection Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating the connection process for a portfolio of solar PV and energy storage projects from preliminary feasibility studies through the grid connection process. This will involve assessing grid connection options, negotiating with Terna and Distribution System Operators (DSOs), and implementing robust processes to manage technical and commercial risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the connection process for a portfolio of solar PV and energy storage projects
  • Assess grid connection options for high and medium voltage connected Solar PV and energy storage projects
  • Negotiate with Terna and DSOs to ensure optimal connection strategies and costs
  • Implement robust processes to manage technical and commercial risk at all project phases
  • Appoint and co-ordinate third-party consultants to undertake activities including power systems analysis, engineering design and grid code compliance assessments

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience working in a connections-focussed environment within a grid operator, power system engineering consultancy or similar in the Italian market
  • Site experience in Solar PV plants and/or high voltage substations is desirable but not essential
  • Evidence of working successfully on multiple projects to demanding deadlines

What We Offer

In return for your skills and experience, we offer a competitive salary of €70,000 - €90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including:

Fluency in Italian is essential for this role.
