Sungrow - EMEA is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our ESS technical team in Italy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing customized solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support the delivery of energy storage projects in Europe.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform high-quality technical advisory work for pre-sale BESS activities
  • Project manage and interface between engineering disciplines (ESS electric, mechanical, civil, and control scheme)
  • Provide technical input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility of the project and integration with other electrical or generating plants as necessary
  • Review overall project conceptual design, detailed design, and suggest technical and design improvements for ESS projects
  • Prepare and manage specifications, tendering, negotiation, and selection of battery storage system plants
  • Due diligence of ESS projects and support customers and lenders throughout the financial close process, including technical liaison with legal and financial advisors
  • Knowledge of renewable generation utility network connection quality studies and PCS dynamic performance approval process would be an advantage
  • Establish ESS technical specifications as per European countries' regulations and international standards (IEC/IEEE)
Your Profile

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong background in BESS technology and European BESS experience. You should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a strong understanding of BESS technologies, including emerging technologies and international markets.

  • Experience in technical advisory roles towards investors, project developers, and experience with BESS plant design dealing with technical advisory support
  • International solar PV or hybrid projects development and delivery experience
  • Proven experience in technical review communication with clients and other project parties (utilities, BoP, EPC, etc)
  • Languages: Italian and English at least C1, Chinese is a plus
