Job Title: Maintenance Field Engineer

About the Role:

Hitachi Rail S.p.A. is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our railway systems, performing maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks on railway systems, including routine checks, repairs, and replacements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with railway systems, identifying and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to optimize system performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in maintenance and engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in railway maintenance engineering.
  • Strong understanding of railway systems, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English language.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in maintenance field engineering on railway fleets.
  • Basic working knowledge of rail train subsystems, such as Automatic Train Supervision, Vehicle, Telecommunication, STB, Pneumatic brake, traction converter, HVAC, etc.
  • Basic understanding of software configuration management (CM) and software programming logic.
  • Basic working knowledge of statistical analysis programs.
  • Operation and maintenance processes.
  • Previous experience on ECM projects and homologation planning.
  • Railway operations and signaling principles.
  • Planning and organization.
  • Spare part analysis, definition, and forecast setup according to return of experience.
  • Design to maintain and continuous improvement willingness and attitude.
