About This Opportunity

The Software Development Manager will play a key role in the coordination of the development team and the implementation of specific features of the Docebo Learning Management System (LMS). This individual will be responsible for supporting business and product development processes, managing and facilitating scrum ceremonies, and ensuring the quality of the product.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the technical design, delivery, maintenance, and integration of the product owned by the team.
  • Responsible for assuring the quality of the product following agreed quality assurance standards.
  • Leading the correct epic - created by business owners - and user story refinement and relative acceptance criteria.
  • Reviewing interfaces to make them more admin-friendly and introducing new methods to automate custom processing to increase configurability while decreasing repetition of tasks.
  • Following and respecting the release process and live environments to facilitate the release of separate services and improve Reliability, Resiliency, Scalability, Ownership, and COGS.
  • Responsible for project documentation, user story splitting, and the definition of low-level/more granular user stories.
  • Managing the bug lifecycle, defining the Sprint Goal, and ensuring the completion of the Sprint Goal and the success of the Sprint by resolving impediments.
  • Leading, mentoring, coaching, developing, and managing the team.
  • Driving a culture of agility, transformation, and team empowerment.
  • Fostering a culture of delivering continuous value based on measurable outcomes focused around business goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing total service performance, managing communications when conflicts and impediments occur, and leading retrospectives to resolve and mitigate further conflicts.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of equivalent position.
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to present and defend ideas to other key stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of product development life cycle; understanding of SDLC including quality assurance, change management, and release processes.
  • Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Knowledge and correct use of Gherkin for writing acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge of Node.Js or any programming language.
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud service providers.
  • Proven planning and prioritizing skills in order to deliver to deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to manage upwards, influencing senior leaders.
  • Ability to review processes and drive change through continuous improvement.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with Trunk Based development / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
  • Experience with serverless and containerized applications.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks, in particular AWS CDK.
