Role Context

This position is situated within the Office of Inspections and Investigations at Headquarters. The successful candidate will function as a team member, reporting directly to the Director of the Office of Inspections and Investigations or their designated representative. The role will require frequent travel to WFP Field Operations, particularly in developing nations.

Job Responsibilities

The Consultant will report to the Director of the Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) and/or their appointed delegate. Responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluating and analyzing complaints and allegations;
  • Conducting thorough investigations into potential violations of established rules and regulations;
  • Performing interviews and gathering relevant evidence;
  • Compiling reports detailing investigation outcomes, including recommendations for corrective measures;
  • Reviewing investigation reports to ensure adequacy and sufficiency of evidence;
  • Contributing to the enhancement of OIGI's internal investigative framework;
  • Undertaking additional related tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A university degree in Investigations, Law, Audit, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience within the United Nations system or other international organizations is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, or Chinese) or Portuguese is considered an asset.
