POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Consultant will be an integral part of the Office of Inspections and Investigations, collaborating closely with the Director and other team members. This role involves a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism while conducting thorough investigations.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position is situated within the Headquarters of the World Food Programme, where the consultant will engage in frequent travel to various field operations, primarily in developing regions. The role demands adaptability and readiness to respond to dynamic situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and analyze complaints and allegations to determine their validity.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into breaches of established protocols and regulations.
  • Facilitate interviews and gather pertinent evidence to support findings.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining investigation outcomes, including actionable recommendations.
  • Review and assess investigation reports for thoroughness and evidential support.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the investigative framework within the Office of Inspections and Investigations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A university degree in a relevant field such as Investigations, Law, Audit, or Accounting.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within the United Nations system or similar international organizations is advantageous.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in English is essential, with knowledge of another UN language considered an asset.
