The Alibaba Group is seeking a Senior Category Manager to join our team in Milano, Italy.
- Category Business Planning:
We are looking for an expert to develop and implement category strategies for Electronics, General Merchandise, Fashion , and FMCG in the Italian e-commerce market. The ideal candidate will analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer needs to drive business growth and achieve GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) and order targets.
This involves planning and executing category-specific business initiatives to ensure platform competitiveness and growth.
- Merchant Acquisition and Management:
The successful candidate will lead merchant acquisition efforts, identifying and recruiting top sellers and brands across target categories. They will build and manage relationships with key merchants to support their growth on the platform.
This includes designing and executing operational plans for merchant performance optimization, ensuring seller satisfaction and business success.
- Operational Excellence:
The ideal candidate will develop strategies to enhance category performance, including seller operations, assortment planning, and sales campaigns.
They will work closely with cross-functional teams (traffic, logistics, tech, and customer service) to solve operational challenges and deliver projects effectively.
This involves monitoring key performance metrics and providing actionable insights to improve GMV and operational efficiency.
- Project Management:
The successful candidate will lead category-related projects, ensuring timely coordination and execution with internal and external stakeholders.
They will oversee project timelines, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to meet business goals.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above, with 3-8 years of work experience in e-commerce, category management, or related fields.
- Proven experience in business negotiation, seller acquisition, product planning, and channel/merchant management.
- Background in consulting or industries such as Electronics, General Merchandise, Fashion , or FMCG is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data processing and deriving actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Italian.
