Steer is seeking a Lead Transport Consultant to enhance our Advisory Team, focusing on projects for both public and private sector clients. This role involves working on diverse initiatives that span across various transport sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and financial consultancy to transport operators and governmental entities regarding public transport service concessions.
  • Assist transport operators in developing comprehensive technical and economic feasibility studies aimed at optimizing fleet renewal and acquisition strategies, emphasizing sustainability and minimizing carbon emissions.
  • Conduct commercial and technical due diligence for private investors involved in public transport infrastructure ventures.
  • Support the preparation of applications to governmental bodies for funding mass rapid transport systems, including transport studies and Cost/Benefit analyses.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a proactive, analytical, and collaborative professional with a strong background in managing data-driven projects, particularly in the bus and rail sectors.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with delivering high-quality consultancy services across a variety of transport-related projects. The scope of work may also extend to broader advisory roles within the transport industry, tailored to the individual’s expertise.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both Italian and English (written and spoken) is essential. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • A degree in Engineering or Economics, or equivalent experience in infrastructure and transport projects.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in the transport sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local public transport landscape, encompassing both rail and bus systems.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences and produce well-structured reports and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams as well as work independently.

Previous experience in transport consultancy will be viewed favorably.
