About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our European Engineering team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the manager in preparing budgets for electrical engineering and automation projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and verifying that contracts respect assigned budgets and general work programs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Project Budgeting and Compliance: Support the manager in preparing budgets for electrical engineering and automation projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
  • Technical Analysis and Contract Verification: Prepare technical/economic analyses of offers received and communicate preferences, verify that contracts respect assigned budgets and general work programs.
  • Project Execution and Coordination: Ensure the execution of work is aligned with schedules, health and safety laws, budgets, and approved specifications, coordinate the start-up phase of the plant and support validation activities.
  • Documentation and Handover: Verify that documentation is complete and sufficient prior to handing over to the end user, ensure optimal handover to the client after carrying out acceptance tests.
Requirements
  • Education: Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Skills: Knowledge of internal and external lighting systems, special systems (smoke and gas detection, door interlocks, access control, video surveillance, HVAC), electro-instrumentation systems for automation of process systems, experience with tools such as Autodesk, Navisworks, Revit
  • Language: Proficient in English both written and verbal
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication skills and experience working within a multi-functional and variable environment, flexibility to travel worldwide
Nice to Have
  • MS Project Experience: Knowledge of MS Project
  • ATEX Systems Experience: Experience in Engineering for ATEX systems
  • Construction Management: Construction management and coordination experience of the construction of electrical systems on site
