About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an experienced O&M Manuals & Training Manager to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a group of experienced technical writers to produce customers' operation and maintenance documentation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a team of technical writers to produce operation and maintenance documentation
  • Ensure timely provision of O&M deliverables and milestones in accordance with project schedule and budget
  • Develop an understanding of how customers use the manuals and what content needs are helpful
  • Review and implement customer feedback
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, including new editor software

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience as a project manager or people manager with a technical documentation team
  • Minimum 3 years' railway system engineering experience and knowledge of integrated systems
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of technical products, processes, and applications
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Leadership and experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization
