Job Title: Global Category Manager

At Burckhardt Compression Ag., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and executing effective strategies to achieve cost reduction, optimization, and management of the total category spend throughout the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze spend, demand, and future development in assigned categories
  • Set category strategy and implementation plan for assigned global categories
  • Maintain Burckhardt Compression Ag. approved vendor list for assigned categories
  • Negotiate and make global frame agreements for assigned categories
  • Ensure adherence to set category strategy and improve cost level and service quality of existing suppliers

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience in consultancy, category management, or strategic procurement within a technical industrial corporation
  • Extensive knowledge of sourcing theory and practice
  • Solid understanding and technical knowledge in mechanical auxiliaries within engineering industry setup
  • Track record of commercial and contractual expertise, paired with analytical thinking, strong initiative, and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and preferable Italian/German language skills
