About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Straumann Group as a Regional Sales Director. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and achieving business objectives in your assigned region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Sales Force and Head of Sales: Collaborate with your sales team and head of sales to identify market potential and develop strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Prepare Sales Forecasts: Develop and submit sales forecasts as requested to ensure accurate planning and resource allocation.
  • Implement Action Plans: Propose and implement action plans to ensure sales goals are attained or exceeded, and provide regular progress updates to the head of sales.
  • Supervise and Evaluate Activities: Supervise and evaluate the activities of assigned Territory Managers, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching to achieve established objectives.
  • Establish Growth Path: Develop and implement a growth path for each Territory Manager, supported by company tools and performance management.
  • Liaise with Management: Collaborate with management across the organization to ensure sales objectives and activities are integrated with other business functions.
  • Ensure Policy Compliance: Interpret and ensure policy compliance by direct reports within assigned regions, including discount policy compliance for sales orders.
  • Review and Analyze Sales Reporting: Review and analyze regional sales reporting to identify product issues, loss of key customers, or competitive sales strategies that negatively or positively affect regional sales, and advise on corrective action.
  • Conduct Regular Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with sales force to ensure constant communication and consistent application of company sales strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain Contact with Key Customers: Maintain periodic contact with key customers in the region to ensure proper sales service support is provided.
  • Verify Product Knowledge: Verify the product knowledge of the sales team and ensure they communicate properly and correctly all product features to clients.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Collaborate across company departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Responsible for Recruitment: Responsible for recruitment, selection, and performance reviews process of direct reports within assigned regions.
  • Pursue Major Prospects: Pursue and visit major prospects, potential customers, and key customers to build and maintain business relationships and negotiate sales terms that maximize regional business interest.
Requirements
  • Educated to Bachelor's Degree Level: Possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years of professional experience and a progressive track-record.
  • Industry Background: A background in the life sciences industry would be an asset.
  • Experience and Skills: Possess experience in bioengineering, pharmacy, science (biology), medical technology, and key accounting, with a strong track-record of success in a fast-paced, international business environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in local language and English is a must.
  • Flexibility and Team Spirit: Possess flexibility in mindset, a can-do attitude, and the ability to contribute to a successful overall team spirit.
