D-Orbit is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of our MAIT engineering division. In this role, you will engage in the Assembly, Integration, and Verification of components, subsystems, and satellites. Your responsibilities will include the implementation and upkeep of integration plans and procedures, alongside supervising and assisting our manufacturing team during AIT activities. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining existing Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) while also designing new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


• Facilitate the mechanical integration of components, subsystems, and satellites within clean room environments.


• Develop and sustain integration procedures and plans.


• Design, enhance, and maintain MGSE (e.g., equipment handling and transport).


• Conduct verification through structural analysis to ensure the correct implementation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).


• Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team for inspections, investigations, and addressing non-conformance issues.


• Provide technical insights to projects and products to optimize new processes and methods for mechanical activities.


• Author and maintain technical documentation.

This position may require occasional travel to suppliers and testing facilities, thus the ability to travel is essential.

Requirements:


• 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace sector.


• Proficiency in CAD systems.


• Experience in FEM structural analysis.


• Background in the design and implementation of mechanical ground support equipment.


• Practical experience in assembly and integration processes.


• Capability to produce documentation for both internal and external assembly procedures.


• A quality-focused approach with meticulous attention to detail.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Professional proficiency in English.


• A university degree in Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS).


• Experience with PTC Creo.


• Knowledge of Nastran/Patran.


• Experience with PLM Teamcenter.


• Familiarity with composite materials.


• Understanding of 3D printing processes and designing parts for 3D printing.


• Fluency in Italian.
