Electrical/Electronic Assembly Engineer for Robotics

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Electrical/Electronic Assembly Engineer to join our Humanoid and Human Centred Mechatronics Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). The selected candidate will be responsible for the assembly, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and electronic subsystems for customized robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and prepare customized power and communication cables for novel robotic prototypes.
- Inspect and evaluate electrical and electronic hardware issues and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of robot prototypes.
- Operate standard electrical/electronic workshop equipment and tools, such as soldering station tools, crimping tools, multi-meter, and oscilloscope devices.
- Generate electrical drawings and documentation, and create maintenance manuals.
- Interact with electronics fabrication workshops and evaluate manufacturers and suppliers for nonstandard PCB components.
- Maintain electrical/electronic workshop tools and components.
- Excellent hands-on skills in electrical and electronic assembly and preparation of customized cables.
- Very good experience in inspection and evaluation of electrical and electronic hardware issues.
- Very good understanding of standard electrical/electronic workshop equipment and tools.
- Good experience in generating electrical drawings and documentation.
- Interaction with electronics fabrication workshops and evaluation of manufacturers and suppliers.
- Experience in maintaining electrical/electronic workshop tools and components.
- Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic circuit design software tools (ECAD).
- Experience in using standard electronics/electrical equipment.
- Strong problem-solving attitude.
