Job Summary

Festival Foods is seeking a skilled Produce Clerk to join our team. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in the produce department, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a high standard of care to quality, nutritious fruits and vegetables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, assist with finding items, and take orders and special requests.
  • Stock and maintain product levels, fill all items on display, and rotate products using the first-in-first-out method.
  • Log sheets, take temperatures, and record shrink daily.
  • Maintain the produce cooler, rotating items and keeping it clean and organized.
  • Order products, including dips, spices, and herbs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
  • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
