About the Role

The Technical Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the technical team at Hhla's multipurpose terminal. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the terminal's infrastructure, including containers, ro-ro, and general cargo facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Plan and oversee the maintenance team's activities, including repair and installation operations.
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance activities.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and report on daily activities to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Control and track the commissioning of new equipment to ensure seamless integration.
  • Implement ongoing improvement initiatives based on analysis and proposals.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Execute special improvement projects to enhance terminal operations and safety.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar technical leadership role (7-10 years).
  • Experience in planning and executing a wide range of maintenance operations for infrastructure systems and equipment.
  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification is a plus.
  • Degree in a technical field (Engineering or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience in the port industry is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and facility machines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong team coordination skills and a safety-first mindset.
  • Fluent spoken and written Italian and English.
  • Valid EU work permit and willingness to relocate to Trieste at short notice.
