Job Summary

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Abb Schweiz Ag. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for conducting repairs, identifying technical problems, and analyzing them remotely or on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting electrical and mechanical tests, including insulation resistance tests, impedances, partial discharge tests, absorbed current spectrum analysis, flux probe measurement, and reflectometric wave measurement.
  • Coordinating and preparing materials, parts, and equipment for service calls, ensuring they are available and of appropriate quality.
  • Preparing standard lists, documents, and reports for customers, and reporting work done in a timely manner.
  • Identifying potential equipment failures, taking corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid future problems.
  • Making suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements, and discussing them with management.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electrical or electro-mechanical field.
  • New graduate or 2 years of experience as a service technician.
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in service, maintenance, commissioning, and repair.
  • Knowledge of rotating electrical machines and electrical testing.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (90% of the time).
  • Knowledge of Italian and English.
