Position Overview

As a key member of our rapidly expanding Analytics division in Italy, you will be instrumental in crafting analytical solutions that enhance the value we provide to our clients and their customers.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience (minimum of 4-5 years) in executing analytical initiatives within the realms of credit risk management, fraud detection modeling, or marketing analytics. Familiarity with regulatory-driven analytics (such as AIRB, IFRS9) and/or expertise in developing machine learning models, particularly in the context of credit and fraud risk management, will be highly advantageous.

Consultancy and Analytical Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of analytical professionals (including Junior Consultants and Analysts) in delivering robust analytical solutions tailored for various clients, predominantly in the financial sector. This encompasses the creation of statistical models and customized data analyses.
  • Take ownership of understanding project requirements and effectively communicate these to junior team members.
  • Ensure project deliverables are precise and align with established project goals and objectives.
  • Critically assess results through applied intelligence, translating findings into actionable insights and recommendations for clients.
  • Present project outcomes to clients and senior stakeholders within Experian.

Sales and Pre-sales Engagement

  • Engage in pre-sales and sales discussions with clients and prospects to articulate and position Experian's analytics offerings, customizing them to meet specific client needs.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan, organize, and execute project tasks to fulfill team commitments within agreed timelines.

Candidate Qualifications

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A strong personal drive and dedication to achieving results.
  • A degree in quantitative disciplines (e.g., mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, physics).
  • Proficient technical and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid experience in designing and implementing credit risk models.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical principles and their application in model development.
  • Familiarity with one or more major statistical software packages (e.g., Python, SAS, WPS, SPSS, R).
  • A proven track record (minimum four years) of delivering complex analytical projects successfully.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with effective communication skills.

Additional Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working with analytics on Big Data platforms (e.g., Cloudera, Databricks) and associated programming frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark) will be a plus.
  • Experience with minimum capital regulations (i.e., Basel AIRB) and/or accounting regulations like IFRS 9, particularly as they relate to products and services similar to those offered by Experian.
  • Background in Marketing Analytics will be considered an asset.
