Private Client and Tax Division – US Team

The Private Client and Tax division is a key part of our firm, providing sophisticated legal advice to high net worth individuals, families, and organizations. Our team has extensive experience in international tax, trust, and estate planning, with a focus on delivering tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients.

We advise on a wide range of matters, including international trust and estate planning, expatriation planning, pre-immigration planning, cross-border philanthropy, and passive and active investment structuring. Our expertise extends to both US and non-US clients, providing a comprehensive service that meets the complex needs of our clients.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Professional to join our Milan-based US private client team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising high net worth individuals, families, and organizations on US and international tax, trust, and estate planning matters.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in researching and analyzing Internal Revenue Code and Regulations provisions, preparing technical advice memoranda, drafting wills and trusts, and writing and speaking directly to clients.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic background, preferably with a Juris Doctor degree, and a minimum of 1-5 years of experience as a tax professional. Prior work experience outside of the US, particularly in Europe, will be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze Internal Revenue Code and Regulations provisions
  • Prepare technical advice memoranda
  • Draft wills and trusts
  • Write and speak directly to clients
Requirements
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the US
  • LLM in taxation or law school concentration in tax and estate planning
  • Prior work experience outside of the US, particularly in Europe, will be considered an asset
  • Desire to combine drafting work with tax planning covering a range of estate/gift, personal tax, corporate, and partnership tax scenarios
  • Must be 1st-5th year Associate (preferably with a Juris Doctor)
