About the Role

Hitachi Rail S.p.A. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the technical design and integration of mechanical systems for our railway projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the technical design of mechanical systems during bid and project development.
  • Prepare system requirements specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Analyze suppliers' technical proposals and check technical descriptions of systems.
  • Verify drawings and documents for installation and integration on board.
  • Check FEM analysis reports and prepare performance test specifications.
  • Support during system type tests and on-board integration tests.
  • Participate in design reviews with clients and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic schemes, hydraulic schemes, electrical schemes, bolted and riveted connections.
  • Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of office automation software and mechanical design software.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and autonomously in teams.
  • Availability for short-term national and international business trips.
