About the Role

Hitachi Rail S.p.A. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Bogie Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing bogie components for our railway vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for bogie components, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Analyze operational problems on bogie components and identify mitigation actions and final design solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to design and develop bogie components, including suppliers and field engineers.
  • Follow manufacturing during prototyping stages and validation tests of bogie components.

Requirements

  • Master of Science or technical degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as mechanical engineer, preferably bogie designer.
  • Knowledge of fatigue failure mechanisms and welding design/process concepts, with special focus on bogie frame.
  • Knowledge of FEM/FEA methodology is a plus.
  • Availability for short domestic and overseas trips.

Desired Skills

  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling (in CREO), 2D drawing (CREO and Autocad) of complex assemblies and welded structures.
  • Basic knowledge of FEM/FEA software (Patran/Nastran).

Education and Qualifications

Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical represents a preferential title).

Languages

Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level.
