As a Senior Data Scientist Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing and modeling structured data using advanced statistical methods and implementing algorithms and software needed to perform analyses. You will build recommendation engines, spam classifiers, sentiment analyzers and classifiers for unstructured and semi-structured data, and cluster large amounts of user-generated content and process data in large-scale environments using Hadoop and Spark.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Analyzing and modeling structured data using advanced statistical methods
  • Implementing algorithms and software needed to perform analyses
  • Building recommendation engines, spam classifiers, sentiment analyzers and classifiers for unstructured and semi-structured data
  • Clustering large amounts of user-generated content and processing data in large-scale environments using Hadoop and Spark
  • Performing machine learning, natural language, and statistical analysis methods

To be successful in this role, you will have:



  • A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Physics, Operations Research, or related fields
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist with participation in Advanced Data Analysis challenges
  • Experience with command-line scripting, data structures and algorithms, processing large amounts of data in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of data extraction and processing, using MapReduce, Pig, and/or Hive preferred
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, SCALA, Ruby) and ability to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot big data infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: machine learning, statistical modeling, data mining, or cognitive computing
  • Proficiency in analytics and Data Science tools (R, SAS, Phyton, Knime, Spark, Matlab) and packages
  • Proficiency in English, ideally improved through an educational/working experience abroad
  • Will to work side by side with clients according to project needs
