As a Program Counselor with Villanova University's STOVS program, you will provide essential support and guidance to students, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. Your role will involve:
Student Support (80%)
- Assisting students after classes and coordinating activities
- Providing one-on-one mentoring in study hall (Mon-Fri, 4:30-6:30pm)
- Helping students with goal-setting, healthy habits, and academic confidence
- Leading evening social and learning activities to boost student engagement
- Offering support to students struggling with coursework or acclimating to university life
Program Planning and Feedback (20%)
- Attending and participating in planning and feedback meetings
- Providing updates to the STOVS director and professors on student concerns and needs
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of student development theory
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
- Knowledge of issues in higher education, particularly educational equity
- Proven ability to use MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Good judgment and maturity aligned with the University's mission
Physical Demands:
This role requires working evenings throughout the program duration.
Wage Rate:
$11.25/hour
