POSITION SUMMARY
The primary objective of this role is to enhance the consistency of costs and methodologies throughout the tender and project phases.
Responsibilities include facilitating pre-contract agreements for surveys and optimizing the quality of engineering outputs.
The successful candidate will assist the Proposal Lead Installation Survey Engineer in various tasks during both tender and project phases, which include:
- Collaborating and sharing responsibility for the outcomes of activities conducted by Proposal Installation Engineers.
- Conducting critical evaluations of survey proposals, including alignment of Scope of Work (SOW), cost assessments, qualifications, and benchmarking against other tenders/projects and internal solutions. This role also involves enhancing knowledge of established Survey Companies and aiding in the identification of new subcontractors.
- Analyzing engineering data, including route engineering and assessing appropriate burial tools, as well as evaluating the speed of BAS burial tools based on historical data and numerical assessments.
- Preparing and updating future survey activity plans, outlining timelines, potential conflicts, and workload distribution.
- Drafting detailed survey specifications for procurement purposes up to the point of subcontract award.
- Overseeing and developing engineering software tools, including AutoCAD, GIS Online, Makai, WOW software, among others.
- If necessary and approved by the line manager, providing engineering support during the execution phase, including route engineering and data analysis.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- A strong desire to learn quickly and engage in activities that foster autonomy.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, with strong problem-solving and goal-oriented skills.
- Ability to comprehend and simplify complex concepts into clear frameworks.
- Adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to prioritize and manage changing demands.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Familiarity with GIS systems.
- Proficient in essential software applications such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and general web usage.
- Willingness to undertake short but potentially frequent domestic and international travel.
- For experienced candidates, at least one of the following added-value qualifications is preferred:
PREFERRED ADDED-VALUE QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a similar role or field.
- Knowledge of or experience in the submarine survey sector, whether from operational or engineering perspectives.
