Technical Focus

Strengthen FAO's resource mobilization and partnerships in response to crisis.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of programme projects, products, and services through research, technical analysis, and project-related services.

Key Functions

  • Analyzes technical, food, and nutrition security assessments, emergency response, policy-related, and/or funding/project-related data and information.
  • Produces reports, proposals, programme/project documents, position papers, policy briefs, financial/donor reports, and critical information for governing body reports.
  • Participates in project teams, collaborates in project and programme formulation, and provides technical/administrative support to operational emergency and recovery projects.
  • Liaises with FAO technical departments and other UN organizations to obtain and/or exchange information regarding food and nutrition security assessments, emergency, and recovery activities.
  • Monitors and supports resource mobilization activities, including corporate appeals, donor grants, CERF/SFERA submissions, annual appeals, and mid-year reviews.
  • Maintains and updates information systems, databases, and web pages.
  • Performs other duties.

Strategic Planning

  • Contributes to developing FAO response plans/appeals that articulate priorities, expected results, cost-effectiveness, and the centrality of agriculture to the humanitarian response.
  • Analyzes funding and partnership opportunities against FAO priorities.
  • Develops an RM action plan.

Resource Mobilization and Partnerships

  • Leads/supports donor outreach, including bilateral meetings and partner briefings.
  • Drafts/reviews high-quality project proposals in line with FAO and donor requirements.
  • Identifies possible collaborations/partnerships with UN, NGOs, private sector, and other entities.
  • Supports funding negotiations with resource partners at the country level, in close collaboration with OER/PSR.
  • Oversees/supports donor visibility and field visits.
  • Liaises closely with FAO Resource Mobilization and Partnership Units/Teams at regional, subregional, and headquarters levels, including PSR, PSU, and OER.

Remuneration

Employees will maintain their contractual status, benefits, and medical plans while performing their normal functions during deployment.
