Data Center Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role

Our Data Center Engineering Operations team is seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining our data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems. You will work closely with our facilities manager to ensure that our data centers are running smoothly and efficiently.

We are looking for a motivated and autonomous individual with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, managing external vendors, and ensuring that all safety procedures are adhered to. Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement and maintain electrical and mechanical systems in our data centers
  2. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes
  3. Manage external vendors and ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to
  4. Collaborate with our facilities manager to ensure that our data centers are running smoothly and efficiently
  5. Perform daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
Requirements
  1. Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field with practice & theoretical knowledge in key electrical competencies, and/or knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
  2. Ability to draft accurate support procedures, compile system documentation, and issue tracking entries while taking full ownership of technical issues
  3. Driving license valid in Italy and willing to travel between data center sites, and internationally if required
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities / or Mission Critical Plants/ Production facilities
  2. An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE); Project Management experience
  3. Solid IT skills; experience and knowledge of MS Office suite
